I feel very lucky that I do get some feedback, and often more expansive than 'this worked for me!' (although that IS lovely to hear).

I have several on-line friends who refularly give me encouragement and a handful of friends who know me well enough to beta read for me or give constructive criticism.

I, like you, want to grow and improve, and it is only with more brutal, specific feedback that I can do this. I have learned a LOT from editors who've been kind enough to tell me what has & hasn't worked in writing I have submitted to them. and I'd cite that as the source of any improvement I've made over the years.

For the record I admire your writing and enjoy it. As others have said in the comments, you seem to offer a new slant on things. This transforms your writing - call it 'scenes with sex' and draws the reader in.
