I believe it is nature’s greatest cruelty that animals have such short lifespans. We bring them willingly into our lives absolutely knowing that we will love them beyond words and that we will outlive them… barring some unforeseeable event happening. We open our hearts to these amazing creatures and we do so knowing that when they leave us, our hearts will go with them. But know this… they leave a piece of themselves with you. Every single one of them. We phrase it as “paw prints on our hearts”. What that really is, is showing you just how deep, complete, and unconditional love can truly be.
